Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
- 1/2 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1.5 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 + 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp white sugar
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3/4 block of halal beef stock cube
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp white all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
- 1/2 lb (225g) ground halal beef
- 1/2 lb elbow macaroni or any pasta of your choice
- 2 tbsp avocado oil or oil of choice
Instructions:
- Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Seasoning Mix:
- In a small bowl, combine the garlic, paprika, onion powder, salt,, white sugar, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well to create the seasoning blend.
- Brown the Ground Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground halal beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease if necessary.
- Add Seasonings and Flour:
- Sprinkle the prepared seasoning mix over the cooked ground beef. Stir to evenly coat the meat with the spices. Cook for 1-2 minutes to toast the spices.
- Sprinkle the white all-purpose flour over the beef and stir well to incorporate. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste.
- Make the Sauce:
- Crumble the beef stock cube into the skillet and stir until it dissolves into the beef mixture.
- Pour in the milk and heavy cream, and stir to combine. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Add Cheese and Pasta:
- Gradually add the shredded mild cheddar cheese to the skillet, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to coat it with the creamy sauce. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat the pasta through.
- Serve:
- Once the pasta is heated and the sauce has reached your desired consistency, remove the skillet from the heat.
- Enjoy:
- Serve the Halal Hamburger Helper hot and enjoy a delicious and comforting meal.
